The fundamental goal of therapy is healing and personal growth. Therapy recognizes the unique individual strengths and challenges of the person seeking help, and advocates for their ability to make meaningful changes in their lives. Therapy is a collaboration between the client and the therapist, with each bringing essential perspectives to the relationship. The therapist has experience and training, and the patient is the expert on their situation. Therapy seeks to equip individuals with skills and tools to cope with the challenges they face, and to engage them with curiosity and acceptance, rather than judgment, in a safe and supportive environment.
